Photos: Alamo

While photos are handy, having additional lessons, teaching ideas, and information related to the photos is better.

The Handbook of Texas Online:
An amazing source of information on just about any topic to do with Texas. This link will take you directly to the information on the Alamo.

The DiscoverySchool.com also has an extensive lesson on the Alamo for grades 9 - 12 history. Connect to that by clicking here.

The Institute of Texan Cultures has lessons and a tour of the Alamo site. Lesson plans and resources are available that are tied to the TEKS.

Establishing Borders: The Expansion of the United States between 1846-48 is a series of lessons from the Smithsonian Institute. It links history, geography, and language arts, thereby providing an opportunity for teachers to work together on a common theme. The lesson is available here.

Clicking on the thumbnail of the photo will take you to the larger image.
Most are around 640x480 and average around 50 kb each for file size.
