Photos: Goodale State Park

near Camden,
South Carolina

The South Carolina Park Service provides the following description of Goodale State Park . . .
"This 763-acre day-use park is a popular get-away for area residents. The park lake, formally a mill pond that dates back to the Civil War days, features cypress trees, numerous species of birds and a variety of wildlife and plant life."

We've put a few photos on this page showing scenes from Goodale State Park in South Carolina. Regrettably, we're running out of room at this site to post more. However, we have started a second site where you can find 67 photos from the park.

To get to the photos at our other site, go to:
http://photos.jmadden.org/thumbnails.php?album=24
or . . .click on South Carolina > State Parks > Goodale State Park
http://photos.jmadden.org/index.php?cat=5
You can expect to see more and more of the new photo collections appear there because of space considerations and the speed with which we can post the items.

These blue flowers are blooming profusely around the park in April/May.

These delicate white blossoms are actually very tiny - not much more than a 1/2" across.

Here's one view of the beautiful glade you come across as you climb down from the mill pond area.

Water is rushing over the rocks in the stream.

Looking further down the stream, you can see the dense underbrush and the debris in the water.

The water is so clear at the moment, you can see to the very bottom. Notice that it has a slight brownish shade.

We walked down the path along the stream into the forest. This picture is from deeper in the forest. Notice the ferns.

Honeysuckle could be seen blooming all over.

Here is a water lily bud just opening. Notice another one to the left.
