Inspiration The research literature on the use of concept mapping in the classroom is significant and plentiful. It fits well with the legislation under NCLB (No Child Left Behind). Version 7.5 of Inspiration has some new features. To help students in our class who may be new to the software, we've provided some short Flash movies to demonstrate how certain of the features work. The files aren't small. Even as Flash movies they are around 500 KB on average because I've kept the screen area fairly large to make it easier for teachers to see what is happening. They average 1 minute in length. I've also got most of these files as AVI and QuickTime versions. However, the space allotment for our website is not endless and posting all of them would soon eat up every last inch of room. If you feel the file would be of help to you in another format, you can e-mail me and I will be happy to share. You must be an educator using these files to assist teachers and students in a non-commercial environment. You cannot be deriving personal remuneration as a hired individual for providing that training outside of a regular teaching assignment in a school or district. You may always feel free to write and ask. Note: For some reason that I have yet to figure out, the audio stream may appear but not the picture. Simply click on the reload or refresh button on your browser and the picture will appear to go with the audio. This usually only happens the first time. Strange. I've re-done the voice file example, but it hasn't made a difference. If you've got a suggestion, feel free to e-mail it! Inspiration Version 7.5
Last semester, one group of our students also did a project on Concept Mapping which includes an instructional movie clip on how to make an Inspiration concept map. That is available through this link.
