Student E-Brochure Projects

The following projects are the work of the inservice and preservice teachers who took EDUC 611 in the Fall of 2003. The projects have been done using eZediaQTI. To view the project online, simply click on the title frame for each project.

Each group was to design a simple e-brochure to acquaint other teachers with a particular piece of instructional technology: (1) science probeware; (2) digital cameras; (3) semantic mapping software; and, (4) digital camcorders. This was only one of the assignments for the course. It was also the first time any of the group had done multimedia. Most were relative technology novices at the beginning of the course when they did this assignment.

One element in designing an e-brochure that became a challenge for the groups was to consider the issue of the end-user. How do you consider the perspective of the person who will be viewing your project and how do you allow them to navigate your project? Recognizing that the table of contents should have had live links to the various components of the project was one such element that became apparent at the completion of the projects and only one of the groups had implemented the technique. These are the little things that we all learn as we move into multimedia-based communication.
