Animations are very, very simple when
you use
eZediaMX. Check out my "Toaster" movie that I did this evening. It's
200 KB: the "Toaster" is
available for viewing here.
Until very recently, powerful, cross-platform
multimedia software was pretty much too difficult and too expensive to
be considered for use in most classrooms. HyperStudio has always been
the traditional workhorse in this arena. eZediaMX represents a new way
of approaching this experience that avoids scripting yet allows for
extremely powerful tools to be available at a mouse click. We've seen
it tried with everyone from preschool to post-secondary. What
distinguishes the software from some other types at this point in time
is that it also has an amazing logic section that creates a powerful
critical-thinking environment for students. Check it out at: www.ezedia.ca
August - 2004 - I have to apologize
for the delay in
taking the time to put links on this page to new projects that have
been up on the site. I promise to try and do better! Projects and
resources are now beginning for QTI2. Watch for them.
Check out the links for photo manipulation on the main

- What is eZediaMX? What is
eZediaQTI?
- The answer to that question
is just above.
- To find out about eZedia's QTI
(and you will want to), click here. A
discussion, screen captures, and a simple project is available for
download.
If you've got QuickTime, you can view the project without problems.
- Update - There are now QTI
projects scattered all
through this website. Frequently, I'll do an eZediaMX version and a QTI
version. You might want to check out the eZedia sampler pages to do a
quick check on all the different projects. I'll try to round them up at
some point and give you a list to just the QTI projects.
- How might I use eZedia in the
classroom?
- eZedia in the
Classroom
- eZedia
Sampler pages
- I've put 1-frame thumbnails of the projects on 3 pages. They're not
all there but you might find it easier to negotiate ideas with pictures
rather than trying to remember what I called it.
- Do you have some examples of
projects that I
can use in the classroom?
- Are there simple instructions
that will help
me get acquainted with the eZediaMX environment?
- Is there
a list of variations
that will help me think how I can combine the cool features in eZediaMX
in different ways to get multiple effects without a lot of work?
- Tell me/show me how I can do some
things!
(See #3, as well.)
Being a teacher, and not a graphic
artist, I
tend to use features in eZediaMX to let me achieve nice effects with
minimum effort. The techniques outlined in this section give you some
examples of what I did and what I ended up with so you can do the same
thing if you want or come up with your own variation. The critical
point is that none of this takes more
than a couple of minutes.

you can get for a frame
