Terra Server

This is an amazing resource. Using the Advanced Search, you can put in your street address and get aerial photos of your neighborhood. What makes it more interesting is that many of the photos are a bit older. The one of my neighborhood is from 1994 and shows a big piece of forest right where my house is! Even a small child can understand that those are trees they're looking at and not houses, so you can get into the issue of change, relating pictures to maps, environmental issues, etc. Photos can be downloaded. Just look above the photo and see the word download. Click on it and the server will assemble your photo so that you can just right-click on it, save picture or image, and put it on your computer.
