This is an amazing resource. Using the Advanced
Search, you can put in your street address and get aerial photos of
your neighborhood. What makes it more interesting is that many of the
photos are a bit
older. The one of my neighborhood is from 1994 and shows a big piece
of forest right where my house is! Even a small child can understand
that those are trees they're looking at and not houses, so you can get
into the issue of change, relating pictures to maps, environmental
issues,
etc. Photos can be downloaded. Just look above the photo and see the
word download. Click on it and the server will assemble your photo so
that
you can just right-click on it, save picture or image, and put it on
your
computer.
